The Candidates’ Forum at the Looking Glass Coffee Shop on 1st was sponsored by the Facebook group Young Voters of Snohomish and held October 30th beginning at 6p. Each candidate was given 3 minutes to give their background and a bit about their plans. Following the second round of Q & A, the candidates met with interested voters at their assigned tables.
Karen met with Haley and her daughter Ella who had the question: how can one serve the city without running for office?
Karen told her about the variety of work covered by the Boards and Commissions and that participation is determined by residents responding to a vacancy with a resume of qualifications, then they are interviewed by the mayor and following consultation with council members and city manager, the mayor makes the appointment official.
