#1. BLUE POINTS

After drawing on the computer for years, I started using my little ink jet prints as the basis of designs for rugs. The inherent grid structure in both the computer drawings and the warp and weft created an easy translation.

My artist friend, Carl Chew, set up a rug making company while he was in residence in Kathmandu. His rug maker, Budhendra Joshee continues to this day making rugs for me and for other artists.

The rugs on this web site were designed for a client. I worked with her to match her space, taste, and the colors and objects in her home environment. After selecting from several designs, I made a map of each rug – a kind of weave by number plan – and the rug makers in Nepal wove the designs by hand out of rich and wonderful wools.
